Bergdorf Goodman Designer Brocade Coat - Jackie O Jackie "O" - Bergdorf Goodman Silk Brocade Rhinestone Evening Coat Vintage 1960's elegant ladies "Originala" designer Silk Brocade and white satin lined evening coat just perfect for that little black dress when dining in the city or attending open-night at the theatre. This fantastic coat is double labeled with Bergdorf Goodman's own private label along with chic Originala designer label from the 60's. Bergdorf Goodman is a high end luxury goods speciality store in Mid Manhattan since 1899. They were the designers who were commissioned to do the inaugural coat for Mrs. Kennedy. They were also the store that was most featured in many of the old classic movies with Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant and, oh yes, these ladies were often seen wearing a very stylish ensemble which often included an evening or city coat for day . Sold: $139 About Originala: Founded in 1962 as a designer collection of women's outerwear, Originala coats draped the shoulders of society's most fashionable women until closing in 1977. French designers Jacques Tiffeau and Christian Dior briefly designed coats for Originala before return to France to design for House of Dior in Paris. Today, the company has been re-imagined as a custom line of family jewelry, Originala maintains the original vision of the Bader family under the creative guidance of granddaughter Tracy Geller-Doyle. The condition of this coat is exceptional appears unworn. The fabric is a rich textured black silk blend jacquard brocade with elegant large flat rhinestone buttons which are like new with no stones missing. The back of the coat has a tab belt for a fitted back with a slight "A" flair to the coat. The lining is a white satin. Size 12. Although the size is shown as a 12, remember yesterday's 12 is more like 8-10 today. So, please take your measurement carefully. Measurements: The coat length is 38 which could be knee or mid calf depending upon one's height. The understated elegance of this coat allows for many fashion applications and style changes for that "little black dress" to a shocking pink dress that might call for a light cover up this fall.
