Chinese Double Phoenix Lotus Serpentine Stone Carving The Chinese for centuries have used Jade, Serpentine (stealite) for ornamentation and carvings. The culture is rich in symbolism and paramount in their carvings with both religious and sociological connotations. The Phoenix represents is the supreme bird associated with high virtue, grace, peace and prosperity. The lotus flower represents holiness. Circa: 1900-1949. Measurement: 8-1/2" Tall x 4-1/2" Across Base. Condition is mint. The colors is that of Celadon green, brown with rustic infusion. Stealite: is a metamorphic rock softer than jade.
